F.A.Q.
Learn about our Fit Process, Return Policy, and more

How long does the fitting process take?

The Robert’s fitting process is individual to each customer and their needs. The analysis and trying on of shoes can take anywhere from 20-30 minutes.

Why do I need to be fit for shoes?

Shoes are the most important part of running and walking. With the proper type of shoe and correct size you can eliminate problems such as blisters, shin splints, black toe nails, etc.

Do I need an appointment to be fit for shoes?

No appointment necessary. All Robert’s employees are trained to take you through the fitting process. Our store hours are Monday-Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday 10am-4pm.

What brands of shoes do you carry?

We carry Brooks, Saucony, Asics, New Balance, Hoka, Mizuno, Topo, and Altra shoes.

How much do your shoes cost?

Our shoes are priced at retail. We offer shoes at the same price as big box stores, but you also get the confidence of our knowledgeable and individual service, knowing you got the best shoe for your feet.

What payment methods can I use?

We can take Visa, Discover, Mastercard, and American Express credit cards as well as cash and checks.

Can I buy shoes from you online?

We built our reputation on our fit process and helping people find a great shoe. If you already have a favorite shoe and just need to replace it we would be happy to mail you a new pair. Visit our Online Store

I know my child’s/spouse’s shoe size. Can I buy shoes for them?

While we prefer to fit each customer, if that is not possible we will sell you shoes. (We know shoes make a great gift!) Please have the recipient try the shoes indoors, keep the box and receipt as these are required for any returns. The shoes must be returned in clean, resell condition. Another option would be a gift certificate.

What is your best shoe?

We have many great shoes. The best shoe is the one that fits you and supports you properly!

Why was I sized into a different size then I have worn in the past?

Various factors affect shoe size. As we age our feet can flatten out and your foot size will change. Women often find their feet change size after having children. Shoe sizing between brands and models can also vary. You might wear a 9 ½ in one brand but a 10 in another. We often find people wear shoes that are too small for them. Snug fitting shoes can feel comfortable if you have become accustomed to that, but can lead to foot problems that can be avoided by wearing a correct fitting shoe.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 20 day exchange policy on fitted shoes. Returns must have box and receipt. All returns are subject to manager discretion. Sale purchases are final.

Do you have orthotic friendly shoes?

Yes, all the running or walking shoes we carry have removable inlays so that you can put your orthotics in. Fashion shoes and sandals for the most part are not orthotic friendly.

Do you make orthotics?

No, nor do we make adjustments to shoes. We can refer you to several podiatrists who we work closely with.

How long should a pair of shoes last?

There are a lot of factors that affect how long a shoe lasts. How hard you are on them, do you wear them on a treadmill or outside and they get wet often, are you running many miles in preparation for a marathon? Manufacturers often suggest a shoe will last 300 to 500 miles. We suggest paying attention to your body, it will tell you when its time for replacements.

Where can I park?

Huntington: We have several parking spots in front of our store. Additional parking is located behind the building.

Charleston: We have a large parking lot to the left of the shop. There is also free city parking across

Pennsylvania Avenue under I-64.
